With temperatures expected to hit the high 20s and low 30s over the weekend, the Clare Priory craft fair was bound to be a very hot occasion. And so it was! As someone who enjoys days when the temperature is around 21 degrees, even setting up on Friday lunchtime was uncomfortable; but it was nothing compared to the weekend itself.
The hot weather didn't deter visitors however. Thousands of people flocked to the fair, and enjoyed watching demonstrations of traditional crafts, tasting wonderful and varied food, listening to live music, and buying unique gifts from some of the amazingly creative and original stalls.
Jemima & Co thoroughly enjoyed the event and it's sad that it's over for another year. Now I'm gearing up for a three day event at Jervaulx Abbey in Middleham in the Yorkshire Dales. Lots of lovely new dolls will be making their appearance, and I'll have plenty of examples of my padded letters for purchase and to inspire. Come along if you can.
